The 7th edition of the Foyer Nordstasemi Marathon goes green and launches the first "Making Athletics Green" run in Luxembourg. Concrete inititatives such as waste management, paperless comunication, fostering of public transportation will be put into action. Foyer Nordstademi supports the Luxembourgish Red Cross. Again this year, donations can be made during the registration on www.foyernordstadsemi.lu. With this partnership, Foyer strengthens its commitment to sustainable development. The Foyer Nordstadsemi Marathon is more than just a sporting event - it is a celebration that welcomes everyone, from experienced athletes to complete beginners, the young and not-so-young alike. The Luxembourg Music Festival celebrates its 10-year anniversary!
Luxembourg's Music Festival has been held every year since 2000 and is the first big party of the summer. For one week, a host of free concerts are organised throughout the country. Foyer lends considerable support to this festival, which symbolises fun, involvement and multi-cultural encounters.
The Echternach Triathlon enjoys international renown, drawing triathletes from all around the globe. It also welcomes a considerable amount of younger participants as well as beginners. This year, the 26th edition of the Echternach Triathlon will once again be held as part of the Regio Triathlon Cup 2010 in order to attract more amateur triathletes while still preserving the international character of the event.
International Historical Festival - Vianden - 31 July-8 August 2010
This truly unique Medieval Festival is presented by Les Amis du Château de Vianden asbl. Dressed in period costumes and using exact replicas of medieval swords, daggers, pistols, muskets and more, the knights act out several historical scenes recounting the techniques that characterise the different French, Spanish and other schools of the Middle Ages, from the baroque era through to the Renaissance... They find their inspiration for this in swashbuckling movies and writings on famous swordmasters. But above all, they know how to turn their fencing talent into a form of art...
The Edy Schütz "bicycle touring" ride is open to all cyclists aged 14 or older. Offering bicycle-courses between 64 and 130 km and mountainbike-courses of 44 km across the north of the country. The event is organised to promote well-being, social interaction and fair play.
Foyer Vollekslaf Walfer - Walferdange - 3 October 2010
The 35th edition of the Foyer Vollekslaf Walfer promises to be yet another fantastic event. This popular race targets all lovers of running whether they be young or old, male or female. Year after year, the organiser arranges everything so that runners can practice their favourite sport in the best possible conditions on traffic-free roads. Furthermore, since the first edition of this popular competition, the organiser has never hesitated to come up with entirely new race courses.
Pushing beyond one's limits and achieving excellence are objectives often pursued by sportspersons. To encourage such perseverance and commitment, Foyer supports the Sportsperson of the Year award.
